Senior Interior Designer
Fulltime Permanent
Are you a collaborative, enthusiastic, qualified Senior Interior Designer with 5 to 8 years full-time experience, looking to join a dynamic multi-disciplinary team?
We are seeking a curious, well-spoken, client-focussed designer; a team-player with excellent communication skills and a meticulous approach to design and documentation. Our ideal candidate is capable of working independently when required or closely and collaboratively with other team members, contractors and consultants as needed; guiding and directing teammates, anticipating and managing project programming and workflow, assisting with fee estimates and taking direction from Associates and/or Directors.
Knowledge and experience in high-end residential design is preferred. Proven ability to take projects from concept to completion, produce and guide the production of accurate documentation packages for residential and bespoke commercial projects, excellent time management for project, team and self, and experience working closely with builders, trades and consultants to fully deliver projects is required. Problem solving skills and the ability to anticipate next steps is valued in our studio. Knowledge of high-end furniture and lighting is advantageous.
As an integral part of a tight-knit design team, your interest in art, design history, culture, the built environment, materiality and architecture will enhance our shared studio experience. The Position
– Space planning & problem solving
– Concept Design for residential, commercial and hospitality
– Design Development
– Preparation and supervision of Client Presentation packages
– Preparation and supervision of Documentation packages for costing and construction
– Preparation and supervision of FF&E schedules
– Establishment and maintenance of studio/client relationships
– Establishment and maintenance of supplier and collaborator relationships
– Familiarity with Nexus Designs style and design philosophy
– Participation in professional development and marketing activities
– Briefing, guiding tracking and managing team workflow and task allocation
– Working closely and collaboratively with Director I Interior Design
The Applicant
The successful applicant will possess the following skills/experience:
– Tertiary Qualification in Interior Design/Interior Architecture
– Full time employment as an Interior Designer for 5 to 8 years
– Excellence in creative concept exploration
– Attention to detail and self-motivated
– Very high level proficiency in English, including an aptitude for written and verbal communication skills
– Good time-management and a respect for deadlines and budgets
– Proficiency in Auto CAD and 3D modelling (SketchUp) is essential
– Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
– High-end residential design and documentation experience
– Experience delivering projects to completion including simple contract administration
– Driver’s license and car is preferred
