A true merging of old and new, the brief for this historic Arts & Crafts home included a sensitive and highly energy-efficient architectural refurbishment alongside a welcoming and ‘jewel-box’ interior, focusing on the curation of an exceptional furniture and art collection.
Referencing history without sentimentality, authentic 1800s William Morris textile designs were embraced and combined with contemporary Danish and Italian furniture, resulting in a duality of drama and calmness. Custom wool and silk rugs, inspired by Morris and reinterpreted by our studio, anchor the main spaces, while lustrous wallpaper and drapery add richness and texture; an alchemy of elements resulting in a lively and most singular home.
