M.V. Sorrento

The brief for the MV Sorrento car and passenger ferry was to capture people’s imagination, connect them to the marine environment and promote the local food and wine regions. Nexus Designs fresh, appealing, sophisticated and inviting design of the vessel interior combines a hierarchy of stripes, plywood and rope detailing, all specified for their practical and durable qualities. The functionality and space planning of the café, bar & retail was absolutely critical and underpinned the entire project. We studied the existing food service layout and completely reworked it to be more efficient for staff and more appealing and relaxing for passengers. Our design met and exceeded the client’s brief and expectations, and met budget, timeline and technical requirements.
