Roro

Roll-on Roll-off (RORO or ro-ro) ships are vessels designed to carry wheeled cargo, such as cars, trucks, trailers, and motorcycles, that are driven on and off the ship on their own wheels. The MV Sorrento is just one of these vessels – a 61m ferry operating between Queenscliff and Sorrento on Melbourne’s Port Philip Bay – it has a capacity for 700 passengers and up to 80 vehicles.

Nexus Designs proposed the quirky name for the onboard cafe, creating a custom typeface and visual identity that utilises the globally recognised blue and white stripes of nautical tradition. Simple, fresh and easily adaptable the brand has been embraced across SeaRoad Ferries three cafe sites – two onboard and another at the Queenscliff terminal.
