Sunny Side Up

Our client spent their childhood summers at this Bellarine Peninsula spot, as did their children, and the brief was to design a quintessentially Nexus house with room for everyone. It was to be a welcoming barefoot beach house, a distinct change from their inner city house.

We kept the exterior of the house deliberately plain and simple, revealing as little as possible to the street, the exception being the over-sized, vivid yellow, pivoting front door.  Inside, the house is open and light filled.

Large sliding doors to the ground floor bedrooms were painted in blue, orange, purple and ‘Hot Lips’ red.  Other vertical planes and joinery boxes repeat the colours throughout the interior, and these colours were further enhanced in the loose furniture items we specified.
