Victorian Auditor General’s Office

The Auditor General’s clear vision of a workplace of transparency, respect and accountability inspired our interior design response for this project. The brief presented an amazing opportunity to renew the culture and quality of the organisational workplace.

Our vision for the interiors of the Victorian Auditor General’s Office was one that balances the essential efficiency and professionalism of the auditing business with a sense of home and welcome, particularly for the audit teams who spend long periods off site. Strengthening a sense of place, we created ‘homebase’ for staff by using material palettes inspired by distinctive Victorian outdoor environments. These six zoned palettes are applied to the workspaces to create subtle yet distinctive colour associations for each zone’s purpose.

We employed space planning methods that embraced both upgraded technology and contemporary office furniture solutions that allow the teams to move around their workspace choosing those spaces most appropriate for the task at hand. We addressed the flow within the dual level environment, the relationships between both business units and external parties and the varying needs of a mobile workforce.
