Glasshouse at Eat Drink Design 2016

As a major sponsor of the Eat Drink Design Awards 2016, CSR Viridian approached Nexus Designs to produce a unique installation piece for the event night, attended by over 200 industry professionals.

Realising it as a powerful opportunity to showcase Viridian’s recently launched Interior & Decorative glass range, the concept of The Glasshouse was born. The Glasshouse framework allowed our designers to showcase a varied and unexpected combination of products in a single striking structure. Each type of glass interacted with the changing light at the venue to reveal individual qualities of diffusion, reflection, texture etc.

Expanding on this concept of the associated but unexpected, Nexus Designs collaborated with Loose Leaf, renowned Melbourne botanical artists to suspend plants and flowers from the roof of the structure to both soften the internal space and create intrigue for visitors.

An impressive effort from all involved, including the production of 46 panels of toughened glass, custom cut from 10 different product types and weighing in at a total of 340kg, The Glasshouse has set the benchmark for future Viridian displays.
