DIA Hall of Fame: Harley Anstee

We are also excited to share the news that our Harley Anstee FDIA was inducted into the Design Institute of Australia Hall of Fame in October. An interior design practitioner with a career spanning 60 years, Harley was recognised for his outstanding body of work, contribution to the Australian design industry and achievement in furthering the profession.

“I am delighted and honoured to be included,” he said in his DIA Hall of Fame acceptance speech.

Harley was instrumental in establishing the fundamental principles of Nexus Designs from when he joined the team in 1975, and also worked to advance the overall Australian design vernacular through his work with many iconic brands and companies. Harley said,

“The Nexus philosophy is one of enormous respect for Australia's haunting landscape and colours.”

Seven other recipients were also inducted into the DIA Hall of Fame, including Adam Goodrum, Maryanne Milazzo FDIA, Paul Cockburn and Celina Clarke. Richard Haughton James, Stafford Cliff and Ian Wong were also feted by Australia’s peak body championing design excellence.

“This year’s inductees into the DIA Hall of Fame represent the breadth and depth of Australia’s design talent,” said James Harper FDIA, DIA Hall of Fame Committee Chair.
