The signage and wayfinding brief for the MV Sorrento car and passenger ferry was to capture people’s imagination, connect them to the marine environment and promote the local food and wine of the Mornington and Bellarine Peninsulas. By entirely reimagining the space planning for the cafe, bar and retail areas to aid staff efficiency and passenger flow, as well as the use of a fresh and sophisticated combination of stripes, plywood and rope detailing, the RoRo cafe branding and vessel signage components utilised nautical colour schemes and bold illustrative styles, taking customers on a journey with playful and informative wayfinding and local history.
